I thank Evgeny Lebedev for useful and motivating jazz piano lessons! This is a rare case when an amazing author and performer with a powerful musical background turns out to be also a talented teacher. He solves any problems and tasks that you address to him in a complex way: he gives life hacks that you can use right here and now, and at the same time "repairs the foundation" — works with thinking and pays special attention to awareness when improvising. What I especially like is that he teaches me not to be a parrot, but a researcher: not to copy phrases and techniques of great jazz musicians, but to analyze someone else's music, creatively comprehend it and create something new every time you play solo. This makes the learning process not only effective, but also truly exciting! Separately, I would like to note the friendly atmosphere during classes: Eugene notes strengths and progress, supports self-belief, and criticizes very tactfully and gently (so that musicians with a fine mental organization are definitely here!) I recommend Evgeny to all improvising instrumentalists who dream of expanding their horizons and finding a new source of inspiration in the routine of daily classes.

There are good musicians. There are good teachers. And there is Evgeny Lebedev - an excellent teacher and musician. And this amazing man, Evgeny Lebedev, in a few lessons brought back my love for piano and jazz music. The first month I bombarded him with absolutely different questions, and he had answers to all the questions. Not "excuses", but clear instructions on what and how to do to achieve the goal. This applies to both modern jazz music and classical jazz. Each lesson is a very strong motivation charge, because it differs from the traditional "everything is bad, you need to study." I want to reach out for a person who constantly does something himself, creates wonderful music, performs regularly in Russia and abroad. Now I am very happy when I play something, when something turns out. Many theoretical gaps have already been filled, and there is never too much practice. We are working on, thank you!

As the American essayist Ralph Emerson said, a teacher is a person who "can make difficult things easy." Not every outstanding scientist, engineer, poet, doctor or musician is able to formulate his way to the beautiful. A high level of professionalism, the ability to explain and love for people is the set of qualities that you definitely cannot do without in teaching. I was very lucky that some time ago I got into the class of Evgeny Lebedev. Thanks to him, I was able to convey a large number of ideas to music paper, developed the skill of improvisation and a sense of rhythm. And it's also great that Evgeny is familiar with a large number of musical styles and can give advice on almost any issue that arises. Interestingly, my journey from engineer to jazzman began 11 years ago with one question to Eugene, to which he gave the best advice. But that's another story. Thank you for the inspiration, Zhenya!

Evgeny is not only a teacher, but also a concert musician and composer. It seems to me that this affects how he conducts classes: exercises for the sake of "order" – this is not about him. Weaknesses are identified, tasks are set and quite specific, but everything is done on the example of certain topics and within the musical fabric, the main priority is music, and not anything else. You can get an answer from Zhenya to any question that a pianist can ask a pianist, and classes are held in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, so they bring both results, pleasure, and fresh ideas in improvisations, and all this together increases motivation.

The pedagogical talent of Evgeny Lebedev is involuntarily mentioned by almost everyone who studied with him. And for a reason. For me, Evgeny Lebedev's lessons are always about calmness, confidence and acceptance of music in myself. As well as the removal of psychological barriers that are so popular with musicians at all stages of training. It may sound grandiloquent, but in many ways this is the point. When you find some point of inner harmony, then the musical one is easier to learn. I especially like the way Eugene achieves the student's understanding in it. Complex chord constructions and frets become clear, and this encourages you to study them with great interest. And the delicate attitude to the rhythm, which Eugene tactfully instills, stays with you for a long time. And of course, reformatting our inner "I don't play like that" into "I can do even better", in my opinion, requires great pedagogical skill and an extraordinary approach.

I've always been skeptical about webinars, but this video turned my life around!

I can't remember exactly how many times I listened to Evgeny Lebedev's recordings. The music turned out to be very close and made a strong impression on me. This happens when you read a good book and the sophistication of the presentation, together with all the subtleties of the plot, reveal the identity of the author to the reader, causing a cordial response and just delight. For me, the direction of modern jazz music has finally formed, in which I would like to work and develop. I had a chance to meet Eugene personally and take jazz piano lessons from him, which I am incredibly happy about! Besides the fact that Evgeny is a wonderful musician, a professional with a huge performing experience, he is also a very sensitive teacher who knows how to identify the weaknesses of a student and delicately direct them in the right direction. Every lesson for me is a new discovery in music and in self-knowledge, as well as an inexhaustible source of inspiration!

In general, what I liked was that without too much theoretical weight, Evgeny showed a lot of techniques that will allow you to revive and diversify improvisation in cases when you are already sick of your phrases and there is a feeling that you are at a dead end. I recommend it to all seekers!"

It was very cool! And fun! In just half an hour, I learned a lot of useful information that helped me really advance in my studies on the instrument. Thanks again for the wonderful master class! And good luck in all your endeavors and sequels!
